Miracle Protection in Jesus' Name

Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

Psalms 91:2 "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." 

Psalms 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid."

Miracle Protection

In the early days of my ministry I spoke for the morning prayer service at the South England Camp Meeting on several occasions. At one of these well attended sessions, the service includes testimonies, music and a short talk. The following heart-warming testimony on the power of Jesus' name was shared by one of the older ladies. I did not take careful notes at the time, but I think this is roughly what was shared. Here is her story...

In London there has been a growing problem with young men harassing bus drivers. 

One day, while this sister was traveling on a bus, a  young man began harassing the driver. As a result everyone on the bus was feeling tense. 

Our dear sister from the Caribbean finally could not take it any longer. I don't know if she was sitting close to the driver and the young man, or called out to young man from where she was sitting, but raising her hand, she admonished, "In the name of Jesus, I command you to show respect to the driver." 

Then she said, "In the name of Jesus I command  you to back away from the driver." 

She went further, "In the name of Jesus I command you to get off the bus." 

To everyone's astonishment--remember this is secular England--the young man raised his hand and responded, "Mama, in the name of Jesus," and took a step backward. "In the name of Jesus," and took another step back. He kept walking backwards until he was off the bus. Stepping out he once more said, "In the name of Jesus Mama," and watched as the bus roared off. 

Needless to say, all the riders had been watching and listening in pin drop silence. Finally a woman spoke out with incredulity from the back of the bus, "The name of Jesus really works!"

Her story is wonderful and very encouraging. I am grateful there IS power in the name of Jesus!

Jesus said, "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." John 14:13
